Communication agreement between the Academy and the parents
Maintaining good communication between the Academy and the parents and carers of each student is one of the key aspects of making a success of every child’s education.
As you may be aware, our staff are often teaching or involved in meetings during the school day. Consequently they may be unable to respond immediately to phone calls or queries. When parents arrive at the Academy without an appointment, the teacher or member of staff they wish to speak to is often unavailable.
Our staff are always happy to work with parents to offer support or resolve problems and will return any phone calls within 48 hours. Where an issue can’t be resolved by telephone, a face-to-face meeting can be very effective. To ensure that enough time is set aside for such a meeting to be concluded satisfactorily, and allow the staff involved to have all the information they need, we do ask that all such meetings are booked in advance at a mutually convenient time. This can be arranged by calling reception and asking them to pass on your meeting request to the relevant person.
For most issues, the appropriate first point of contact is your child’s tutor, since they can address most questions themselves, or refer to the correct person where necessary. When parents or carers call the Academy we always endeavour to return calls within 24 hours. Of course, some issues are genuinely urgent and if this is the case we would advise you to telephone reception 0208 687 1157or alternatively you can email info@harrismorden.org.uk and give a brief outline of the problem so they can direct the call/email to the most appropriate member of staff available.

Parents' Evenings provide an important channel of communication between the Academy and its parents and students. Parents will have the opportunity to meet their child's teachers to find out about their progress and how best to support them in achieving their potential. This year's Parents' Evenings are scheduled as follows:
Year 7 - Thursday 22nd January 2026
Year 8 - Thursday 16th October 2025
Year 9 - Thursday 23rd April 2026
Year 10 - Tuesday 19th May 2026
Year 11 (1) - Tuesday 25th November 2025
Year 11 (2) - Tuesday 17th March 2026
All evenings will run from 4.05pm until 6.20pm
