Harris Experience – Christie's Art Exhibition
Harris Experience – Christie's Art Exhibition
A group of seven Y9 Harris Experience students represented the academy at the Christie's Art Exhibition, hosted at Harris Academy Falconwood.
Over the past few weeks, the students worked tirelessly to create an artwork inspired by Sir David Attenborough and the theme of the natural world. A huge thank you goes to Ms Freedman and Mr Dynes for supporting the students during lunchtimes and tutor time to bring the project to life.
At the exhibition, students attended a lecture delivered by Christie's staff on how to discuss and present artwork effectively. They then prepared presentations and spoke directly with Christie's judges about their work. Keya and Wasif did this with great confidence and professionalism.
Later in the day, Scarlet and Eldana delivered an outstanding presentation to an audience of around 200 students from 17 Harris academies, alongside teachers and Christie's staff. Their presentation was confident, persuasive and a fantastic showcase of their hard work.
Although the team did not secure one of the five main awards, they received a Highly Commended recognition, which is a significant achievement and a testament to their dedication, creativity and resilience.
They have been excellent ambassadors for our school and should be very proud of their accomplishments.
