Jack Petchey's 'Speak Out' Challenge
Jack Petchey's ‘Speak Out' Challenge is the UK’s largest speaking event. The experience helps students develop effective communication skills and build confidence. The training contributes towards each student’s Speaking and Listening assessments in English. Students participate in workshops designed to teach the students, in a fast and fun way.
The three core competencies for communicating as a public speaker are:
The training culminates in a speech contest. Pupils who speak particularly well are nominated as potential finalists. They will speak again at an internally run event within school, receive a special certificate to recognise their achievement and then one student will be named as your school’s Finalist and will go on to represent the school at the Regional Final.
