Harris Academies
All Academies in our Federation aim to transform the lives of the students they serve by bringing about rapid improvement in examination results, personal development and aspiration.

Merton Music Foundation (M.M.F.)

The Merton Music Foundation provide high quality music education for children in the London Borough of Merton. One of the Foundation’s key priorities is to support schools in the provision of an enriched music entitlement for all pupils.

In September, we will be launching Music is Life 2015, which is an opportunity for a selected few students from HAMD to practise with professional musicians and then sing at the Royal Albert Hall with thousands of other young people

The Merton Music Foundation provide support for HAMD with instrumental tutors: we have a talented guitar teacher who comes in to teach all styles of music, including pop and classical whilst not forgetting the development of techniques; vocal lessons are also offered, again for a small charge for a professional, experienced and qualified tutor to come in and teach voice technique and repertoire development.

We are in the process of developing an ensemble programme to complement our existing provision, where students will receive small group tuition and then practise in an ensemble. There is a small charge for tuition. We are running this for Guitars and Wind, and will expand into Brass and Strings in the future!
