At Harris Academy Morden we have introduced chess into our Year 7 Form Tutor programme. Students are taught how to play chess three times per week and gain experience through playing against their peers.
Supported by a growing number of research reports, we believe chess enhances a broad set of skills for students including;
- improving concentration
- developing logical reasoning
- enhancing mathematical and reading skills
- employ creative thinking
