Harris Academy Morden celebrate outstanding GCSE Results
Harris Academy Morden achieves one of the country’s highest Progress 8 scores
We are delighted to have been ranked 27th out of 6,480 schools across the country for pupil progress in recent data issued by the Department for Education
The academy has achieved a provisional Progress 8 score of 1.03, meaning that our students achieved, on average, more than a grade higher in every subject relative to other schools with similar intakes.
Only 33 schools in the England achieved scores of 1 or above, including two other Harris academies in Bromley and Battersea.
Last year our results placed the Academy in the top 2% of school nationwide with a score of +0.67. This year the Progress 8 score of +1.03 will see the academy placed within the top 1% of schools nationwide and the highest ranked in the borough of Merton.
Final data will be published by the Department in January 2018.
This fantastic Progress 8 score is the result of outstanding performances across the academy from our students and departments. This summer, 71% of Year 11 students achieved GCSE passes (A*-C equivalent) in English and maths, with English at an 82% pass rate and Maths at a 76% pass rate.
We are extremely proud of our students and staff. They have worked tirelessly together across the year to ensure students believed in themselves and went into their exams with the confidence needed to achieve their true potential. The results this year are amazing, even with the new more demanding maths and English curriculum changes.
