For those offered a place in year 7 for September 2021, please complete.

Support for parents of Y6 children in Croydon, Sutton and Merton - Transitioning to high school during the COVID pandemic.

We know that many children feel nervous, scared or excited about their move to high school. It’s perfectly normal for children to feel a bit worried or anxious especially this year where our lives have been turned upside down by the Covid-19 pandemic. This online series of workshops for parents of current year 6 children aims to provide a space for parents to support one another and build on their knowledge and skills to help their children through this transition. To sign up for this series of 4 online workshops parents can sign up for at www.talkofftherecordonline.org

We can’t provide tea and biscuits, but parents are welcome to bring their own, this group will run online on Off The Record’s bespoke platform, parents will be able to see and hear what our practitioners have to say and share their thoughts and concerns through text. There is no pressure to contribute, although we’d love it if parents did. Because parents are not on audio or video you can sit and watch or be actively involved through the text chat. We know many parents have busy lives, with home schooling and work, so we’re running two groups one on Wednesday evenings at 6pm and the other on Friday mornings at 10am. Both groups will run through July with a follow-up session in August.

Parents/carers of children from other schools in Croydon, Sutton and Merton are eligible to sign up. Places are limited so please sign up early.

All students joining us in September will be part of a World Class School, which means that you can enter this WCS Essay Competition, which is judged by Dan Freedman, author of the hugely popular Jamie Johnson football novels. His books have been adapted for TV by the BBC, which is now the most downloaded children’s show on the BBC iPlayer!

Please see the leaflet for more information on how to enter and good luck!
